Product: 0131488724 One of the roadblocks to the proliferation of Linux to personal desktops is the perceived difficulty in installing and using Linux. Robin ‘Roblimo’ Miller addresses the novice Linux user with his book Point & Click Linux!, published by Prentice Hall PTR. The book comes with both a distribution of SimplyMEPIS Linux on a bootable CD and a DVD with tutorials featuring Roblimo himself. Robin is the Editor in Chief for the Open Source Technology Group.

Product: 0143145088 Loved this book! Engaging, well written, and a lot of food for thought. As a person starting their own volunteer organization, this book provided tons of important information about what makes people tick. I’ve hopefully avoided making some very serious mistakes in how I structure things for expansion. As a student looking into different careers, this book helped clarify why I’d been so miserable in my former lab but fairly happy where I am now.

Product: RHCSA/RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Study Guide I bought this book to get a leg up on studying when I received word that I was funded to take the RH124, RH135, and RH255 courses and exams. While I’ve used various Linux distros since the late 90’s, it has been almost that long since I’d used Red Hat, so I picked up this book to improve my knowledge a couple months before the classes.

Product: Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line I was always fascinated to learn how linux worked behind the scenes if you want to say it like that. This book gives you all the tools to comprehend and understand how to program in Linux and take the most advantage you can from this Kernel Free operative system.

Product: Linux Bible This is the required course material for my Unix (Linux) course at Tarrant County College (Tx). I’m very geeky to begin with and knew Unix/Linux before I bought the book. For a geek- very addictive: even before my class started, I can’t put it down! If you want to learn Linux, buy this. Rating: 5 0470230193 Count: 52

Product: 111846446X If you are planning on owning this $25 wonder, you probably realize it does not come with ANY documentation. You might be planning to just use the amazing variety of documentation in video, audio, and text form on the web. But that resource is bewildering in its vast size and uncertain quality. This is the book you want if you are just getting started with the Pi, especially if you are not fluent in Linux.

Product: LINUX: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide! I was ignorant as the next person before a friend introduced me to the book. Initially the book felt a lot strange since I have had no previous exposure to the language. I was able to grab the essence of the book faster than I normally learn things. And that is as a result of just how simple the book was presented by the author.

Product: 0672336243 It is easy to read, If you have the 2012 Edition you can skip this one. You will learn everything about Ubuntu and you will become a Linux power user. The author assumes that you are comfortable with computers and know at least the basics of computing and networking. If you are a novice then you will have to read this book slowly. (Even so you will learn)
