Product: UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook As a long time Windows systems administrator, I inherited several Linux servers from someone who left. This book got me up to speed on Linux quickly. Rating: 5 0131480057 Count: 29

Product: Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line It should be clearly understood that this is all about command line use. This is NOT the book you want to learn about desktop Linux. Rating: 4 1496145097 Count: 41

Product: UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook My previous Linux book dated to 1995, so it was long overdue for replacement. I selected this one on the basis of its publication date, hoping it would have material on the various distributions that have appeared in the meantime. This expectation was largely but not completely fulfilled, hence the 4⁄5 rating. At the moment, I am using Ubuntu 11.10, and it is somewhat different than previous editions.

Product: 0066620732 I certainly hope that Linus Torvalds and David Diamond had fun writing Just for Fun. They did such a poor job of it that I was not able to enjoy reading it. The first thing that bothered me about the book was the poor proofreading and editing. The book switches between second person and first person. There does not seem to be any reason for this in the narrative.
