Product: 0596004826 How many times have you been trying to find a particular command but just can’t remember what it was called. How many times have you been typing in a command and forgot the options available? Through this book, the author has taken many of the substaintial commands for users, admins, networking and programming and rolled them into a dictionary of sort for Linux users. Sure, you can find out a lot about any command through the online man pages, but the author has taken the somewhat cryptic man pages and broken them down into simple, to the point, references laid out much like you would expect to find in a dictionary.

Product: 0738203335 Glyn Moody does an excellent job on showing how the Linux kernel came about as a culminating event of work started years before by other hackers. It explains how, from a humble bedroom and a 386, came the missing piece of the free software movement. The book shows how the free software movement and GNU/Linux are bringing computing back to a state where the users have control over what they are running, after 20 years of proprietary software ruling.

Product: Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line This is an amazing book for Linux beginners, is very straight forward with explanations and images that will help you to develop a good understanding of this Operating System. I used as a reference tool and I love it! Also it provides good examples about commands that you’ll use daily in the command line interface, like open, search, copy and compress files, which would help you to get the maximum efficiency of your Linux based operating system.

Product: LINUX: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide! I’m not good with computers but I was still able to understand the majority of what this book was talking about. I’m learning about Linux for my work and had no clue how to use it but after reading this book I have a basic idea of how to use it. Learning about how the basic functions was all I really need to learn for now and this book provided me that.

Product: 1449345379 Every year the range of mobile embedded systems expands to include newer and more capable devices. Every one of those systems is different from the preceding ones and contains a host of details that make or break the design of new projects. This book should be required reading for new BeagleBone developers who want to succeed in making their project work. The BeagleBone Black is the latest addition to the series.

Product: 0596005288 I have been programming applications under Linux off and on for ten years. But I am getting serious in using Linux for my business as a file and remmote testing server system. I admire Linux for its long term operation reliability and it’s versitility, not to speak of its open source documentation. So, I needed to see what would be needed both in terms of administration operations and in terms of best practices.

Product: 1430248211 Now this is the way to do a Pi book! Lots of diverse information well noted and it covers configuration, projects, and troubleshooting to make sure you are completely successful. The Pi environment is sufficiently different from the typical Linux environment that it needs a roadmap for success like this book. I design most of the specific software for my computing needs so I need a general environment for building a program in my work.
