Product: 0596004826 After spending a fair bit of time with FreeBSD and needing some information regarding Linux installations I thought this book would be a good way to speed things along. Wrong. It’s not that this book is too expensive, or poorly put together, but it’s little more than a cursory overview of the Linux operating system and a listing of the commands to get things done with a terminal. But even to find the commands to do simple things such as renaming files, is too time consuming to be bothered with.

Product: 0764205579 After the death of Christ, followers of the Way were persecuted right and left for their beliefs. The community of believers was growing but many were still skeptical of the belief that Jesus was God’s Son. With the Jewish community jealous of the new conversions and the Roman rulers angry at the growing mobs of people gathering to hear people preach in the streets, the followers of the Way were under attack.

Product: RHCSA/RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Study Guide The only thing I can really say about it is that if you’re a rookie to Unix/Linux plan on taking your time with this book. I have a little bit of experience with Unix and a little less with Linux and I find that I have to read through and then go back and make notes to myself. The case for: It’s a two-fer, you get the study guide for the RHCSA and RHCE.

Product: 0124116442 The first few chapters cover such networking basics as what an IP address is and how to ping. It recommends Backtrack Linux, the versions of which it references don’t have half of the tools claimed. If you’re utterly new to networking and COMPSEC it may have some value, but otherwise it’s a waste of money. Rating: 2 0124116442 Count: 5

Product: 0132354136 I’ve been a Ubuntu user for a few months now and decided to write a review to help others. This book is a must-have for Ubuntu Users (existing / new) and anyone who want to have a better Operating System (I think not only better, but also best). This book covers all the essentials topics that any Ubuntu User would like to cover. I really got inspired by the Ubuntu Promise (No commercial intention), Ubuntu Philosophy of Software Freedom and community support.

Product: LINUX: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide! Good overall book, I got this book because I’m starting to take a college course and I wanted to prepare, I now know a basic amount of Linux coding, great book for ABSOLUTE beginners. I knew nothing and still thought the pacing was a bit slow, but good information. Rating: 4 1519453477 Count: 34
