Product: 1449316697 This guide has enough and not too much. Excellently laid out for either straight reading or reference. It got me oriented to Linux very quickly and will do well to have along side when you boot your first install of Linux. Rating: 5 1449316697 Count: 22

Product: 059610104X I wanted a small Up To Date inexpensive handbook for my customers to get an introduction to Linux without going to deep for beginners. I would recommend it for that purpose. Heavier books are needed for intermediate and advanced programmers and system admins. Rating: 4 059610104X Count: 6

Product: 0470343435 A bit dated in 2016 but a very clear exposition. Every Linux kernel and driver developer should have this book. Wish the author would update the book. However given the size of the book and the effort involved, I can understand if he does not. Rating: 5 0470343435 Count: 7

Product: The Linux Programming Interface: A Linux and UNIX System Programming Handbook Consolidating all the unix/linux knowledge in this detail in a book is a very difficult task. And who else could have done that except the manpage owner for Linux. Matthew Kerrisk has achieved the impossible with this book. The source code for the examples provided in the book helped me so much in understanding the concepts. This is a must to have book for anybody having anything to do with Unix/Linux.

Product: 1517392772 I never knew how to use Linux, I am not that good with computers to bother with it. But, I am listening to praises and recommendations all the time and I might even try it. I got a good grasp on what it is and how to use it from this book. The author goes from the very beginning, explaining everything in a simple manner. I can see that those are all basics so anyone familiar with Linux won’t get much out of it, but for me it is good.

Product: 0596006403 Let’s face it O’Reilly books are generally of very good quality and personally I have rarely (if ever) been let down by the titles. This book lives up to its reputation of being from the O’Reilly stable by providing focussed and well laid out recipes for Linux SysAdmins. Mind you, it does not address the productivity tools. There are far too many good books out there who do just the same and do it far more effectively.

Product: Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line Having recently been required to work more directly in the development of content and functions of our company website, I recently read Linux for Beginners to help gain a direct and straightforward outline of the function and commands available in the software I will be using. It was also very helpful because I work with a Mac at the office and Windows at home, so I am able to transfer my tasks and assistance of my department back and forth as the use of Linux on both systems was easy to learn.
