Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction For some reason, people think that to use Linux you need to understand the scary, scary command line. That might have been true 15 years ago, but not today. In fact, I know a number of Linux users who have never and will never type a command. But for others, a knowledge of the command line is essential. Or, at least, useful. And if you need to learn the Linux command line from the ground up, this book can help you.

Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction Simply a remarkable book. It’s taken me about half a year to go through the book start to finish and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. I wish there was more! Each chapter incrementally gains on the last leaving you craving more … more knowledge … more power over the command line. Every programmer absolutely must read it. That’s not to say it won’t be of some value to non-programmers.

Product: 1119188687 Highlights of this book were discussed at my previous meeting of the Akron Linux User’s Group (aka ALUG). My copy arrived in the mail but I didn’t have time to begin reading it before the meeting. Although the author suggests the reader to have already purchased the RPi 3, SD memory card, and power supply to take advantage of the experiments in each chapter and to gain knowledge of this neat piece of hardware, I began reading the text upon my arrival home from the meeting.

Product: The Linux Programming Interface: A Linux and UNIX System Programming Handbook Okay first off - Someone, obviously very naive indeed, referred to this as a computer science text. #1. This is NOT a computer science text but rather a consultation on a huge C program the world knows as Linux. Don Knuth’s TAOCP is a computer science text and this book can never be in that class. #2. This book is too broad and lacks depth.

Product: 1118935128 This is the best dam book I have bought in a very long time! I honestly had my doubts when I ordered it, because so many times with other books like this the author assumes you know a topic and they dive in somewhere in the middle and continue on leaving you thinking what the hell. This book is not like that at all. He is a very good teacher on the subject.

Product: 0789735318 I bought this book, about 3 weeks ago. I am a John Grisham fan, and seems like the author is too. Very interesting reading and lots and lots of labs, and it provides info on where to get the tools for free. The labs are very detailed and guides you step by step. If you are serious about learning this trade, this book is a good start. It’s worth its weight in gold!

Product: 1518684777 This is another software review from Johansen and I just like how this author provided explanation in simple manners that anyone can comprehend. Raspberry 2 explained gave me the knowledge on what this credit card sized circuit board can do. Its basics and functionalities was discussed even the price as well that was set on low cost and yet provides amazing motherboard power which is very handy for Linux projects.

Product: 159327257X Linux is an excellent operating system, but it is different from the Windows OS that most users are accustomed to. Recently I decided to take the plunge and learn about it. Although I could have searched the web for the information in this book, and download the CD image for free also. I decided to buy this book instead. So with the enclosed CD and a free older computer, I was off and swimming with the penguins.
