Product: LINUX: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide! I haven’t tried a Linux OS yet as I am used to using Windows in my pc. Linux seems like it is worth a try after absorbing the information in this book. It doesn’t sounds so complicated and can even be downloaded free online. All the details of Linux application is in this book and it has been presented well. Good explanation in my honest opinion.

Product: 1590593162 Thomas Greene is most well known for his articles on cybercrime, network and computer security and other information technology subjects for the British tech newspaper The Register. Product: Linux (Hacking Exposed) The Hacking Exposed books have set the bar for this genre of security book. Hacking Linux Exposed - 2nd Edition doesn’t fail in meeting that bar as well. If you’ve read Hacking Exposed - 4th Edition and think this book can’t tell you anything you don’t already know- think again. For those who administer Linux boxes this book provides an in-depth look at specific hacks and vulnerabilities unique to the Linux operating system and the accompanying fixes and workarounds to protect yourself.

Product: 0672336936 I purchased the 2013 edition but a new one comes out each year which is nearly identical, and I figure no one is looking at the 2013 edition reviews anymore so I’ll copy/paste here what I wrote for that one: I am often disappointed with technical books but this one is very nice. Very clearly and nicely written, and thorough. Even when some details on a topic are missing, this is indicated, so you can know what to search for elsewhere in case you need to.

Product: 0672336243 I am often disappointed with technical books but this one is very nice. Very clear and nicely written, and thorough. Even when some details on a topic are missing, this is indicated, so you can know what to search for elsewhere in case you need to. I installed Ubuntu on a Mac partition so I have it along with OSX on the same computer, and obviously the book does not cover something unusual like that, but this book was still very helpful for my install, along with the Mac-specific stuff I found on the web.
