Product: 1494861275 There are a number of books on linux security out there, and all of them fall short in some way, this one made clear what I was trying to learn, using great text and clear, concise photographs. The writing is excellent, and the coverage that is there, which is at a expert level of depth (though written in such a way that a beginner can grasp), is solid. In addition, security is something you have to work at, so having an introduction to get you down the road is a good idea anyway.

Product: 0470125055 This provides a great beginning overview to Ubuntu Linux and had some very interesting history about it. Switching from Microsoft to Linux, this book carefully explained the similarities and differences. Because Ubuntu is very intuitive, some of the book’s sections were simplistic, but thorough in the explanation. Overall, a very good starting point in learning the new OS. Product: 0321832043 While it has a lot of linux and network troubleshooting examples that I found useful, I really wouldn’t call it a devops book. Rating: 4 0321832043 Count: 8

Product: 0672327201 In spite of the complicated Linux kernel architecture, this book can deliver a first glance but detailed information on each core part inside Linux kernel. Readers can easily understand it’s concepts after reading even without previous kernel development experience. Rating: 5 0672327201 Count: 23

Product: 1449344216 I haven’t used Linux or a Raspberry Pi. I bought this book when I bought the Raspberry Pi. Sometimes I had to look carefully to find what I was looking for, but the book is loaded with information. This is not an in-depth guide, but an introduction to several topics. There is one major flaw; this book lacks an index. Rating: 4 1449344216 Count: 13

Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction A really good book! I have a large technical library, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Clear, concise, very well written. Very practical, I’ve been able to apply this book to a Liniux project of great importance to my company. Not dry at all, Shotts’ prose is entertaining as it is enlightening. Shotts sets the standard for computer books, I hope he writes more books.
