Product: 0131861506 Easily the best book on Linux that I have ever read or bought. Also one of the best computer books overall that I have ever used. That is saying a lot given that I have many computer books on the full range of computer topics and given that I am very picky in what I buy. The other reviews - all but one 5-star - give details on the book.

Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction This book is an excellent introduction to the command line in Linux. Key concepts are explained and there are examples to follow. I am a non-technical user and have found this book to be very helpful. Rating: 5 1593273894 Count: 86

Product: 1507836996 Main dislike, only 72 pages. Too short to be an introduction to Linux, such a complex OS. Maybe if you know nothing about Linux, this might be for you but if you’re looking for an in depth intro, keep looking. Rating: 2 1507836996 Count: 7

Product: 0131478230 Looked high and low to stay current with Linux flavors. Even includes Mac OS X. Sturdy enough binder and cool rice like paper which seems durable. Highlighter goes through a bit… Still, I didn’t mind spending more for something current that included all the nuts and bolts of my top favorite distros. I’m in the IT industry, so I recommend it for anyone with at least a decent grasp or at least a beginner willing to learn.

Product: Linux Bible As someone new to the Linux operating system I was looking for a textbook that was thorough but easy to understand and use. This book has it all and then some. I am enjoying following the exercises in the book and checking out the Linux distros on the DVD.This is a must have if you are considering switching to Linux. Rating: 5 0470230193 Count: 52

Product: The Linux Programming Interface: A Linux and UNIX System Programming Handbook This book claims it is the single most comprehensive book about Linux and is destined to be a classic. After finishing the book I would agree. For 1400 pages the author beautifully explains how Linux kernel programming works. I did not notice a single mistake the entire book and the writing flows elegantly with each sentence conveying valuable information.

Product: 0132338696 Unfortunately, DSL is no longer supported. I could not make my Belkin USB wireless adapter work, nor the HP printer but DSL has a lot of potential if you have hardware that works with it. The book comes with a CD and helps you through the installation and administration of your distro. Rating: 5 0132338696 Count: 10

Product: Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line The authors real world experience is clearly presented in an easy to read manner. The best thing about the book is the way of presentation - concepts are introduced in an order that will gradually build up on previous chapters/topics. The content of this book is excellent, and other comments on this section helped me a lot at the time to decide for this book.

Product: 1119188687 if you only buy one book to learn about and use your Raspberry Pi - this is it! get this book there is a reason that Molloy’s books are so highly regarded: - breadth of coverage - plethora of examples - detailed descriptions - excellent diagrams and tables of information - and best of all: this book is written in plain English, not ‘engineer-speak,’ and not juvenile cheerleading. the tone is just right, and this book will help teach you about this family of small Linux computers and how to interface them with the real world
