Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction I have been studying this book for months and I am blown away by the detail and clarity of every concept. The power of Linux can be found in the command line and this book will give you mastery of it. I set aside time each week for experimenting with Linux and once I get into this book, I can’t put it down.

Product: Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line I really appreciate this as I am new to Linux and the other books I saw at the library were just too complicated. I came across this book in an attempt to improve my studies and I found the info to be the most useful and excellently written. It reinforced some of the basics of Linux commands while filling out a a few gaps in my own knowledge.

Product: 0596100272 Excellent book, I actually purchased a total of 4 books from the O’Reilly Series on BASH, all from Amazon.com. All for the serious command-line junkie. Rating: 5 0596100272 Count: 6

Product: 1517392772 The instructions are clear and were geared for the total beginner in Linux programming. Advanced users of the system may find it too basic for them, but it is what it is. I am one of those who find this book extremely useful. Honestly, I don’t think I would be able to learn everything in 2 hours, perhaps because I am a slower learner than others. I will keep this as a reference because of the simple instructions given.

Product: 1517392772 Great for beginners. I have been trying to understand Linux for a while now, but the guides I found are too complex and I end up procrastinating. This guide, on the other hand, is pretty straightforward. You still need to slow down and assimilate the content, but it is very understandable if you put an extra effort on it. Product: 0130206016 This book is by far the best book out there for general UNIX system adminstration. The third edition is even better than the second. Whereas the second edition sometimes got bogged down in trying to mention too many different UNIX flavors, this new addition just concentrates on four main ones (HP-UX, Solaris, Red Hat Linux, and BSD). An excellent decision because it nows has great details and specifics about the four types.

Product: 0071807837 We are only 1⁄3 through this book, but it seems to be exactly what we were looking for. It helps to get the Pi up and running, gives a few useful details about Linux; then offers some solid Python instruction and culminates in two neat projects. The author has a website to compliment the book and help out when the reader gets stuck on a programming exercise. Great stuff!

Product: 0131478230 I built my first computer and went thru all the Apple line up to the Mac SE and was forced into Microsoft morass and now feel I must graduate into sanity and Linux seems to be the best avenue and I hope this is the book that will help me make the jump, it does look promising. Product: 0130281875 This book has quite a lot of usefeul info in it, but the organization is terrible. Also, the security points frequently seem like duplicates of previous ones. And the writing style could use a little more editing; the author comes off as a bit too much of a hotshot. Nonetheless, a useful edition to the security-conscious Linux-users bookshelf.
