Product: 1590594584 I am a computer nerd, and I’ve been using Suse for roughly a year now, so you would think this book would be beneath me. However, it is an entertaining read. I gives a great overview of Linux, and all of the great stuff it can do. You can’t expect a book to help you troubleshoot every piece of hardware you have. If you read the first few chapters you will find that most serious hardware troubleshooting will require some help from the linux community or at the very least some research online.

Product: 1118531744 It reads well, although I don’t feel competent enough to take this first. I’ll end up ding linux Essentials if only to get my head back in the game. One thing that bums me out is…there’s so much that doesn’t show up in a book like this, or even two or three. So I also purchased the Linux Command Line book, since command lines are so important. Now it’s off to the races…so to speak.

Product: Linux Bible Great for those stepping into the Linux pool, this book does a great job stepping you through but keep in mind you will have to learn to read the man and use google at points in labs, the book can’t save you but it sure helps. I have the most recent edition, I have not read the older versions of this book so I can’t speak on them by comparison.

Product: 1517392772 Got this book for my sister who wants to have a comparison in what OS to use on her new laptop. Well, upon reading I got quite convinced that Linux can be a great choice too. As discussed in the book the reasons why Linux and its unique features, if you are open and want to give this OS a try then you can come up with a sound decision in using this one.

Product: 0072129409 If you’ve been interested in using Linux for desktop applications and don’t know where to start, this is a great place to do just that. Covers nearly every topic imaginable, comes with 2 different Linux distributions (versions), and has a relatively low price for a book of this size. Highly recommended. Rating: 5 0072129409 Count: 5

Product: 0132338696 Well written and completely thorough. Quite usable regardless of wish variant of Damn Small Linux you happen to use. I have yet to a book this thorough for any other Linux distribution. My only point of contention is that it can sometimes be a bit too technical. That being said, it is a great volume. I especially recommend it for anyone who wishes to use a minimal Linux distribution to experiment with programming or learn about how an Operating System works.

Product: The Hack-Counter Hack Training Course This is a review of a video lecture series targetted at network administrators and people who are looking to start a career in the security field.
