Product: 111846446X I have a lot of computer experience, but not so much with Linux. This book covers not only the Raspberry Pi hardware, but also the basics of the Raspbian Linux recommended by the Pi Foundation. Rating: 5 111846446X Count: 17

Product: 1494295504 The best way to describe this book is a cheat sheet or refrence guide. This book won’t teach you how to really do anything you need to know that going in, but as a guide to keep next to your laptop or in a bag when you travel can be handy. Nmap, Powershell, Linux, Windows, SQL, basic networking Rating: 5 1494295504 Count: 9

Product: 1894953479 This handbook is priceless. Sure, Linux is free, but learning how to use it properly, a necessity when installed on a dead badger (something I’d been meaning to try) can be tricky (especially for those of us who were trained on Windows machines). I’d been wanting to explore Linux use and the wider applications of the life-challenged to handle my small business’s basic chores–mailing, filing, tax preparation, security–but until I read this book I had no idea I’d need to know which aethernet company would require the least amount of holy water.

Product: 0131429647 This is a good introductory book for Linux OS related programming concepts including memory management, files, IPC, signals and debugging. It does explain the concepts quite well and the code illustrations are very helpful. Its debugging and internalization chapters are noteworthy. As mentioned by others, this book does not cover threads and sockets. It could be better to provide more complete coverage of the topics such as IPC and memory management.

Product: Linux for Beginner’s: Complete Guide for Linux Operating System and Command Line I’m one of those people who thought Linux was this complicated thing only used by computer geeks, but I find from reading this book that this is not true, it is more user-friendly than Windows or Mac OS, which I have both. I had no idea there were so many versions of Linux either. One thing I did learn is that there is a version of Linux that you could use with an old computer that would make it run normally.

Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction I’m almost half way through this book. It’s well written and well organized. I believe when I complete it I’ll have a decent, basic understanding of Linux from which to work to improve my skills. I’ve never used a Unix distro before and only did a bit of MC6800 machine hacking for a course on microprocessors and Fortran hacking for a signals and systems course I took as an undergraduate engineering student.
