Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction Back in 2014 I had a university requirement to earn my Linux+ before graduation. The amount of material covered in the official study guide seemed overwhelming, was just too bland, and expected a baseline of knowledge that I frankly did not have at the time. I was beginning to dread my approaching deadline and started to look for alternative learning materials. That’s when I found this book.

Product: 0596006284 Might be confusing for some who don’t realize that various flavours of UNINX and Linux abound but so what! This book is not supposed to teach that kind of thing anyway. Rating: 5 0596006284 Count: 21

Product: Embedded Linux Primer I couldn’t agree more with other positive comments about the book. I bought the book a few months ago and read it cover-to-cover. I really enjoyed reading it, evenhough some of the information I already know as I am an embedded developer for living for many years. The author packs a lot of information in compact and efficient wording. Plenty of captures from real logs of Linux embedded systems.

Product: Embedded Linux Primer Got this book a few weeks ago and about half-way to finish reading it. Although I have been using Linux for years and work on embedded for living, this book still gives me some insights and answers many of my questions. If you don’t want to waste time searching the Internet about Linux for embedded system, this is the book you need. I particularly like the explanation about booting process end-to-end.

Product: The Linux Programming Interface: A Linux and UNIX System Programming Handbook Bought this book after skimming my friend’s book. Although Linux man pages have most of the APIs, the thoroughness of the APIs and examples are unbeatable. It since then always accompanies me at any programming occasion on my Linux machines. It’s ultimately the de-facto Linux handbook every Linux developer must have. Very highly recommended to anybody who wants to have complete reference of Linux (userspace) API.

Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction Mastery of the shell is what separates boys from men, in the memorable words of The Olde Unix Greybeard. This machudo test of computing proficiency has indeed stood the test of time a kind of cultural hazing ritual for those who are in the know, as opposed to the namby-pamby who require a graphic interface with options spelled out for every possible task.
