Product: 0764545744 If you’re familiar with DOS and Windows, but not UNIX, this book will lead you throught the Linux installation process. It also has extensive beginner-level explanations of basic tools for Linux; experienced users will not find much new here, however. The CD that accompanies the book has Linux, GNOME, KDE, the GIMP, Gnumeric and a host of other useful items. Rating: 4 0764545744 Count: 5

Product: 1449316697 This is a great book for anyone who works with Linux or is studying Linux. I used this book for a Linux class that I was taking at college and it has helped me time and time again when I needed to look up a command and didn’t have access to the internet. This book will definitely come in handy if you don’t have access to Google to look up a command.

Product: 1517392772 I want to try a different OS as I am already so familiar with windows and just for a change I would want a new one and decided on using Linux instead. I was not aware that Linux has been around for a long time and this book has presented all I need to know about Linux. Distribution was discussed and as well as the OS itself, how to install it and its command line.

Product: 1517392772 If you are an active computer user, you must know that there are a big amount of operating systems nowadays. The author of this book says Linux is the best. I agree with him from many points of view. It has zero cost or is cheaper than other OS, it is stable while working, it gives to user or system administrator abilities to tune and maintain it in a widest variety of methods.

Product: Linux Bible I am using this book as a supplement to another book that I am using to study for the RHCSA/RHCE. I’m only 130+ pages into this & I’m glad I purchased it. This book takes you from scratch, assuming you know nothing about Linux, and takes you all the way through RHCE knowledge. The author is RHCE certified & used to administer RHCE exams; he also teaches RHCE courses.

Product: LINUX: Easy Linux For Beginners, Your Step-By-Step Guide To Learning The Linux Operating System And Command Line It is a great book of learning LINUX. The desktop is a different breed than a server and after many attempts of trying to get people to use it throughout the years you realize it’s just not worth the effort. It’s not that’s it’s too complicated, it’s that there’s too many variables and inevitably they try to install a piece of hardware, or just to get a piece of software, that’s not compatible.

Product: Linux All-in-One For Dummies I am new to Linux but not new to computers or to For Dummies books, and as a pc tech I found the information a little to dummy in some areas and a little to fast paced in other areas. but over all I found the book to be a well rounded, and easy to follow guide to Linux for beginners, I had no problem applying the concepts learned in the book, I can really speak for the accuracy of the book because I have not yet taken the Linux + exam or any of my Linux classes a plan to start taking for work.

Product: 1449344216 For any electronics and Linux novices wanting to learn raspberry pi, this is the book for you! I came to this book with a high school physics level understanding of electronics, almost no knowledge of Linux, and a hobbyist level understanding of programming. The book took me step by step through a few small projects that really helped me to understand the possibilities that open up when using the raspberry pi.
