Product: How Linux Works I suspect I may be the exact target audience for this book. I’ve been using Linux Mint in a dual boot configuration with Windows 8.1 for about a year now. I like the fact that I have the ability to dig around this OS and I’ve been doing that in an aimless sort of way for a while now. This book has given direction to that aimlessness and it’s helped me to enjoy Linux even more.

Product: 0130084662 I have owned several editions of Nemeth’s ‘UNIX System Administration Handbook’ (USAH) and I have always been highly impressed by the quality of writing and instruction. In that book, Nemeth et al brilliantly (and humorously) packed material into 853 pages where other lesser authors (J. Winsor comes to mind) have needed several (dry) volumes. Most Unix System Administration books merely regurgitate or re-word ‘man’ pages and are entirely useless.

Product: 0470082933 This book is full of command line commands that have been quite helpful. Even though Ubuntu and other Linux versions come with a lot already, this book helped me use Wine to play some programs that were old favorites for me in Windows. I highly recommend this book after you have gotten a little familiar with linux. It helps a lot. Rating: 5 0470082933 Count: 18

Product: 0596100299 Good book for use with directory management and other shell commands. A word of caution for those who are new to Unix that this book is a little advance, however with practice and time you will come to enjoy this book. I would recommend to others interested in learning the Unix/Linux/Sun systems/Mac systems, this book is for you. I take the book with me on my travels just in case my contract requires me to work on Unix computers.
