Product: 151182607X This book is fantastic. As a beginner, I didn’t know where to start with Linux so I bought this book. Everything I needed is laid out in here, commands, access permission, examples, and more. Everything is easily readable and explained. I love the way he formatted the book too. Everything is nice and neat in organized columns with the commands and what they do. This book is definitely going to be my go-to resource.

Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction If you just did your first fresh install of a nix OS and you have no idea of how to use at all and you are very bored, you should buy the Linux Command Line and read it every day and you will be proficient in operating any nix system effectively at least by the end of the month. The Linux Command Line is a fine introductory book to the Linux Command Line, but it is 432 pages long and the primary subject is basic commands.

Product: 1597495867 I’m not a professional digital forensics practitioner. I don’t investigate. My primary interest is in data recovery following hard drive crashes, accidental deletion and other user-induced mishaps. I am very knowledgeable of Linux and already have experience with some of the tools mentioned in the book, so that puts me somewhere between beginner and experienced forensics practitioner. This book is written for both–though not necessarily for tech newbies, as evidenced by many of the Vine reviewers who apparently had no idea what they were getting into when they opened this book.

Product: 151182607X This is the perfect book for beginners. Since I am new to Linux, I often find myself quite lost when it comes to the command line commands. This guide explains everything clearly to me and I often find myself reaching out for it whenever I am stuck. This is especially so for the more advanced commands like those related to file comparing commands. I can see that the author is well versed in this subject and therefore is able to layout the information in a easy to read and understand manner.

Product: How Linux Works Another great title published by No Starch Press. If you are a Linux power user, Brian definitely knows how to properly feed your desire to know more about whats happening under the hood, without getting into the details of titles such as The Linux Programming Interface or Advanced Programming in the UNIX Environment. Easy to read and follow, its a long long talk about many of the topics that make Linux what it is today.

Product: 0470082933 At some point, any Debian user will either give up Linux, getting back to the cave and Windows or end up googling to find a faster, better way to accomplish all those tedious, time consuming and error prone tasks that he manually does, over and over, through the graphical interface. This book, with its learn by doing approach, is a great companion to anyone wiling to get the most out of the penguin, unleashing the true power of Linux and taking control of his machine and its services through the command line.

Product: 0672327716 Ever since the early 90s, when the Internet phenomenon exploded, security became an issue, since the number of exposed machines grown exponentially. This also led to an inevitable increase in the amount of books being written on the subject, thousands and thousands of pages targeting both simple end users, interested in protecting their home LAN, and network administrators, responsible to keep the gates of huge castles and companies well guarded against dragons and hackers.
