Product: 1430248211 This is one of the best computer books I have ever read. I’ve used Linux for years, but the subject really opened up for me with this book – and that was all before I purchased a Raspberry Pi! It is more of an OS and software book than a hardware book, and is certainly not a ‘quick start’ guide. A couple drawbacks are the small print and poor print quality of some of the photos.

Product: UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook This is a great reference! It tells you everything you need to know. I have both this book and the Linux Bible eighth edition. They both have their strong points but I couldn’t decide to purchase one over the other. I would more lean towards this book however I did buy both. Rating: 5 0131480057 Count: 29

Product: 0470497025 Good introductory book on IA-32 Assembly programming in Linux. You do need Ubuntu, unless you are very flexible. Discusses basic stuff, in a way useful for those starting out. Illustrations are good. It’s a bit wordy, and things may be explained after, not before. I can live with that. Good basic book. Rating: 4 0470497025 Count: 13

Product: 0764205587 The Damascus Way by authors Davis Bunn & Janette Oke, is the third book in the Acts of Faith Series. It does not disappoint. This series takes part after the resurrection of Christ, in the early days and each book has kept me entertained for hours. In this book, we are introduced to Julia, who has everything that money can buy because of her merchant father. But, she discovers a secret about her family that threatens to destroy her relationship with her father and she is devastated.

Product: 1518635504 I am curious and want to learn Linux system. And I am so grateful to find this book as there are a lot of books who says a Linux guide but doesnt have the content inside. This guide introduces all the Linux history from its first release to the market until to its current kernel version. This guide has a clean instruction and has illustration provided which make this easy to learn and understand.

Product: 0470038993 This is a very comprehensive operating manual for the Ubuntu system. It covers every conceivable aspect of the Ubuntu-Linux OS. There is historical background in several places describing the evolution of the system. There are a large number of web sites listed for user’s groups, support and general interest in the OS system. The author is thoroughly aquainted with the system. He admits that this 904 page volume does not cover all of Ubuntu’s capabilities.

Product: UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook I’ve owned three of the four editions of this book over the years, starting with the second one and having heard murmerings about the awesomeness of the first from colleagues. This book proves that Unix and Linux Systems Administration texts can be well written. I read somewhere that Tim O’Reilly wanted to emulate the quality of this book when he set up his company.

Product: 0131478230 I have used three or four editions of this book when I taught Linux at ITT. It is an excellent reference, if you already have a basic grasp of Linux. It is not a good book to use for teaching yourself Linux. Rating: 4 0131478230 Count: 46

Product: 0130084662 I bought the first edition of this book to introduce myself to the world of Linux. It is well structured and quite understandable for someone who is taking his first steps in the Linux O/S. Covers basic theory like file system structure, booting and shutting down to more advanced like routing, performance analysis, etc If you want to dive more into the linux world you would probably need to buy additional material on specific technologies like mail systems, iptables, etc.
