Other readers have commented that this book is the most complete user documentation for running and interfacing the Raspberry Pi Microcontroller.
That is undoubtedly true. But this handbook is also the most up-to-date and comprehensive guidebook, to Using and Interfacing Embedded Linux Systems regardless of their type; it also is a comprehensive guidebook to Physical Computing going from blinking on-board LED’s, to prototyping GPIO interfaces, connecting your own ADC/DAC and Sensor / Actuator Devices through SPI and I2C. Also importantly it describes the real interfacing and software/networking protocols for Internet of Things in a practical and detailed way that no other IOT book that I own does (and I had a Comcast Innovation Grant for IOT of Medical Devices in the Home). It describes the full gamut of Networking and Data Transfer Options including Tcp/ip ports, Web Services, Messaging Services like MQTT, and SaaS like IBM’s Bluemix and ThingSpeak.
Finally a comprehensive example is given of developing a Device Driver as a Kernel Module.
This is not only the best and most complete guide to the RPI. It is a complete Picture of Embedded Linux and Internet of Things.
