I enjoyed starting out in linux and this is the guide that helped me to do it. I realize now that the internet and some forum browsing is all that is necessary, but this is a good book for folks that prefer to have the printed word on paper. I think if could have been a bit more detailed on getting started, but once into the install process and how to customize ubuntu it was very helpful. I have since moved on to PCLinuxOS, just find it to work better and easier, but owe this book to getting started down the path of the Pinguins.
