Ubuntu Linux Toolbox is not a book for beginners and is not a book you read from cover to cover for general knowledge and it is not a tome on Unix/Linux. Ubuntu Linux Toolbox is a type of reference book that is helpful when using the Linux command line that lies behind the colorful Ubuntu GUI. The book is intended for intermediate users learning their way around Linux or advanced users that might need an occasional reminder of some fact or command. I liked the way the book is organized. It starts with what the intermediate Linux user is likely to be trying to do first and proceeds to the more advanced things that are likely to come later. The chapter headings and index make it easy to find the specific information you are looking for. The explanations are short and concise, followed by examples that are clear. The later chapters in the book deal with networking, something that many users will not need but a few may find useful. I am glad I purchased the book and use it when help with specific Linux commands is needed.
