Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction

A GREAT book for the noob (me) who is new to the Linux Command Line Interface. I would not use this book as a reference tool (there are tons of those out there) though it could work for that. Rather this book is meant to be read through–seriously. Each chapter builds on the preceding ones, increasing with complexity. It’s worth reading through because it provides context for the commands, which I have found is not often the case with reference material. He provides examples of typical tasks and invites you to follow along with him (highly recommended). The book is well written and easy to read and understand.

His companion web site http://linuxcommand.org/ is also a great resource, highly recommend bookmarking it.

I bought both the hard copy as well as Kindle version of this book because it’s that useful to me.
