Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction
This is the first time I have taken the time to review a product/book. That is how highly I thought of this book.
I started on this book after using Linux for 3 months via the GUI.
I really liked the writing style and hands on approach of the book. Just make sure you have a Linux terminal or virtual machine open to practice all of the commands and examples as you read them and you should have no trouble with this book.
I have left the last section on scripting for when I have more experience at the command line.
I brought this book as a reference for my LPI-C / Linux+ certification studies and would definitely recommend it to anyone studying this certification as it really explains the commands in an easy to understand way. Obviously it is not written to follow the exam objectives but knowing the command line is required for the exam. 43% of the exam questions are on GNU and UNIX commands.
This book definitely hits it’s mark when it comes to its goal of teaching the command line.
