Product: The Linux Programming Interface: A Linux and UNIX System Programming Handbook

Okay first off - Someone, obviously very naive indeed, referred to this as a computer science text.

#1. This is NOT a computer science text but rather a consultation on a huge C program the world knows as Linux. Don Knuth’s TAOCP is a computer science text and this book can never be in that class.
#2. This book is too broad and lacks depth. The author is trying to cover way too much and skimping on detail similar to the mile wide inch deep analogy.
#3. I wasn’t too impressed with the section that covers pthreads. There simply cannot be a way to cover topic in a handful of pages and move on - just doesn’t do justice to the subject itself.
#4. I would improve it by breaking up the book into separate volumes.
