Product: How Linux Works

This is a useful overview of Linux. I think, though, that the author simply tried to cover too much material, because the coverage of the various commands are little more than listings. He does offer links to more information; but, a lot of them have out of date information.

Considering what a mess Linux is, I guess this was about all he could have done. In the interest of full disclosure, I am no fan of Linux. There are at least a dozen ways to do everything, and most of them only work in very specific environments. It is easy to spend hours trying to accomplish the simplest of things, and never get them to work. But, there are some things that can be done with Linux that cannot be done efficiently any other way, which is the only reason I slog through it.
