This book is a beginner reference for basic Unix and Linux ideas such as shell, and commands.
It is by no means, a deep book about OS such as one often takes in college, but merely a quick reference book if you already know a lot about Unix and Linux, or a great 101 book for people who knows nothing about Unix and Linux.

The best part I love about this book is it give code examples for every single command it listed. This way, readers do not need to actually try it out in terminal to get the gist.

depends on your knowledge level, you can skip a lot of chapters in this book. In addition, some chapters such as Chapter 4 is useless to most readers. Knowing these, may speeding up your reading through this book.

Some may claim self-learning bit by bit is sufficient for Unix and Linux. Wrong, just like a college degree in EECS gives you a good foundation of Computer hardware and software, finishing this book will do the same for basic Unix and Linux. At least this is true to average readers.
