Product: RHCSA/RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Study Guide
I bought this book to get a leg up on studying when I received word that I was funded to take the RH124, RH135, and RH255 courses and exams. While I’ve used various Linux distros since the late 90’s, it has been almost that long since I’d used Red Hat, so I picked up this book to improve my knowledge a couple months before the classes.
The book is pretty well written and does a good job of covering the exams’ objectives. However, after taking and passing both the RHCSA and RHCE exams, I don’t feel that this book by itself would have fully prepared me to pass the exams. Not a slam on the book, as I don’t know that any written material without instructor-led classroom/lab time would have fully prepared me. That said, I’m not sure I would have passed the exams on my first attempts following the classes had I not read through most of the book and worked most of the excercises.
