Product: UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook

My previous Linux book dated to 1995, so it was long overdue for replacement. I selected this one on the basis of its publication date, hoping it would have material on the various distributions that have appeared in the meantime. This expectation was largely but not completely fulfilled, hence the 4⁄5 rating. At the moment, I am using Ubuntu 11.10, and it is somewhat different than previous editions. Nevertheless, I have found this book to be much more helpful than one supposedly devoted specifically to Ubuntu 11.10 which I have reviewed elsewhere in this forum. This is a good, solid, meaty book that will help a linux user find the way through the forest.
