I am a beginner in Linux. I bought several Linux textbooks for my Linux examination preparation. Someone recommends LPI for me. However if Linux+ is equal to LPI level one. Why I do not choose Linux+? Linux+ seems much well organized in structure. You do not need to memorize a lot of options / arguments which can be easily found from Goolge.

I also took local classes. To be honest, this book is simple to understand than my teacher notes. Examples are clearly written. Because I am not a English speaker. I do not know to how to recommend this guide to you in professional wordings.

It is worth of money. Although I have not taken the Linux+ examination, I still think that this book is useful for your learning. After getting the concepts, you know how to find a better one for your jobs.
