I had read the first edition, highlighting an occasional important fact for my review later, and to quicken looking up facts I need.

When I got the 2nd edition, I first tried to copy my highlights from the 1st edition to the 2nd. About 80% of my highlights are no longer there, things you need to know to really use Linux to the best. The 2nd edition has been watered down, try to get the 1st edition if you can.
