Product: The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction
Working in the IT field I have always used Linux in some form or another. Most have been common release distro’s where you could get by navigating just the GUI. I however wanted to dig a bit deeper and set up a Ubuntu server for media and archived school work. I picked up this book to get a better overview of what is capable when using shell commands and the answer is everything. Reading the book and practicing the different commands will help you with basic navigation like what release version you are using to the date and time. As you get comfortable with the basics you start to learn about creating and moving directories as well as downloading and installing applications without the need to use a GUI. This book would be great for anyone new to Linux or as a reference manual for the more experienced.
