Highlights of this book were discussed at my previous meeting of the Akron Linux User’s Group (aka ALUG). My copy arrived in the mail but I didn’t have time to begin reading it before the meeting. Although the author suggests the reader to have already purchased the RPi 3, SD memory card, and power supply to take advantage of the experiments in each chapter and to gain knowledge of this neat piece of hardware, I began reading the text upon my arrival home from the meeting. I couldn’t put it down until I’d nearly finished Chapters 1 and 2. My eyes were burning and it was past 1 AM and my alarm for an early morning task would be sounding soon.
Derek Molloy, Dublin City University, School of Electronic Engineering teaches in class and via distance learning. This text is probably required reading. From the 2 chapters I’ve read it will be an easy read. It will be most beneficial to have my Raspberry Pi 3 at the ready to perform along with the text the many experiments. In addition to the text, Derek has several Internet locations where the reader can follow along with the book, like you tube. I think I have made a great purchase.
