Product: Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything
Ok - so I am admittedly late to the party. This book came out in 2006. While I’ve obviously heard of Wikipedia and Linux, I was thinking there was more to know about how this whole wiki stuff works, so I thought I’d do a ‘deep dive’ by buying this book. Bad idea. Instead of finding detailed findings on what motivates people to volunteer their efforts and what models have proven most workable, I got lots of buzz words and abundant proclamations that boil down to THIS IS THE NEXT BIG THING PEOPLE - ADOPT IT OR BE DOOMED! By page 100 I was in pain and desperately started skimming future chapters for substance. I finished the book disappointed. Unless you want to party like it’s 2006 - don’t buy this book.
